My talk at the Retiro park

Today, I have done my talk "How to train your robot" at the Eugenio Trías library (also known as Casa de Fieras) at the Retiro park in Madrid. In this iconic place, I presented my works in robotics applied to agriculture, adaptive and immersive interfaces, robot swarms, and robot learning to a general audience. It was a very nice surprise to meet such a diverse public interested in my research. These things help me to keep working hard at this difficult time in my life. I want to thank the Unidad de Cultura Científica of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid for the invitation.

I'm on the radio!

Hey man, look at me rockin' out, I'm on the radio! Today, I have been invited to talk about my research on robot learning on the Onda Cero Madrid Norte radio. I want to thank Iván Narváez from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and Sonia Crespo from Onda Cero Madrid Norte for this opportunity. Here you can see the video of the interview:

A new office partner!

The works of my Leonardo Fellowship are progressing. I have acquired an autonomous ground robot to perform the experiments. However, this robot will be important beyond this project. It will support my research on multi-robot systems, machine learning in robotics, adaptive and immersive interfaces, and robotics applied to agriculture.

RoboCity2030 Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Workshop

Today, I have been at the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Workshop organized by the RoboCity2030 Project. In this event, I have presented a poster about my work in the context of the SUREVEG Project. The poster is entitled "Training a mobile manipulator to follow crop lines with reinforcement learning" and is my first work in artificial intelligence applied to robotics. I have developed a control system for a manipulator robot based on neural networks trained with reinforcement learning. Here you can see the poster (Don't forget to watch the video!):

Summer School on Artificial Intelligence and Games 2018

I have assisted to the first international summer school on Artificial Intelligence and Games, which has taken place in Chania (Crete, Greece) between May 28 and June 1. During this week, I have learnt a lot of things about artificial intelligence applied to games for creating artificial agents, generating scenarios and studying human players. Additionally, we took part in the game jam of the summer school by developing "A Game of Drones", a drone race game where the human players has to do their best to get the goals before the artificial intelligence, which learned to play by using reinforcement learning.
